This is going to be the best rootin’ tootin’ cowboy party ever. Come saddle up and hit the trails on this wild west adventure cowboy themed party. Your cowboy or cowgirl party is sure to round up many cheers. Yee-Haw!
Make your own wanted poster of the guest of honor. You can create this on your computer and use a picture of your child all dressed up in their cowboy costume. Write something cute like:
"Join cowboy / cowgirl ___ on the best rootin’ tootin’ Cowboy/girl Birthday Party ever. RRSP to Sheriff ___ . To take place at Ranch ___ . Come saddle up at (time). Wear your best Cowboy / Cowgirl digs."

Lasso Lessons - Learn to lasso. Use bails of hay and stick a head on the end. Have the ropes all tied and ready to go beforehand. See if the guests can catch the cows.
Pony Parade - Hire a pony to come for some pony rides. This is a great photo opportunity and what child would not love to sit on a real live pony.
Pin the hat on the Cowboy - Play like pin the tail on the donkey. Have a scarf or bandana for covering the eyes in the game. Spin the guest the number of times for the age of the party guest of honor.
Rope Tie - Have a rope tying contest using red liquorice. Have pictures of different types of ropes available.
Bandit Hunt - All the guests become the sheriff and need to look for all the bad guys. Have hidden pictures of cowboys and clues to lead them around the party area.
Cattle Drive - Make an obstacle course that the cowboys have to move the cows through. For the cows use balls and golf clubs (if outside) or balloons (if inside). To make the cattle drive more challenging time your guests, the fastest time wins.
Bottle Toss - Get old bottles and decoupage theme pictures on the front of the bottles. Set them up in a triangle and try to have your guests knock them down with a bean bag.
Corn Hole or Bean Bag Toss Game - This game is fun and traditional. You could make this game if you are good with tools. Use MDF, sketch your pattern and cut it out of the wood. Then sand the wood smooth. Cover with a paint primer and then sketch your desired design. Then with an outdoor paint, paint in your design.
Photo Booth - Have an assortment of clothing items for your guests (e.g., cowboy hat, bandana, plaid shirts, cowboy boots, etc.). There also can be different signs to hold, like a wanted sign with a dollar reward listed, saloon, etc.
Catch the Wild Horse - Use a woodworking horse and add a horse head on the top. Then toss hula hoops and try to catch the wild horse.
Cowboy Name - What’s your cowboy name? Create a list of names based on the first letter of your first name, last name and age.
Gold Rush - Pan for gold by sifting through sand to find some fools gold.
Cactus Toss - Make a large cactus cut out of wood. Attach a few hooks and then your guests can toss rope rings to try to land on the hooks.
Pony Rides - Traditional stick horses for your guests to ride around on
Horseshoes - Play a traditional game of horseshoes. You can use the same and real metal horseshoes or you are able to purchase a foam version if you need to play indoors. If you are playing the metal horseshoes make sure you cover up the mini posts when the game is not being played. Safety first always.
