Harry Potter Party Invitations
Make Harry Potter invitations by stating how they are invited / accepted to attend an event at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
- Make handmade Harry Potter invitations out of "aged" looking paper. Staining the paper with tea and letting it dry is a great trick! With the help of an adult, burn the edges of the paper (this is optional). Handwrite the letter with calligraphy type writing.
- Make a letter that looks like the many Harry received with a sealed envelope and all. Using the same technique as the invitation, stain an envelope with tea and let it dry. Then, when your invitation is ready, seal the envelope with red wax and if possible use the Hogwarts emblem.

Harry Potter Party Games and Activities
- Hogwarts Express Arrival Have guests arrive through the Hogwarts Express! Set up a scene setter of a brick wall and cut slits through it so it is like streamers. The guests walk through the wall to enter the party.
- Sorting Hats Upon entering the party everyone gets a lightning bolt on their forehead like Harry has from Lord Voldermort, a robe and a house is assigned. Then the guests are off to Potter’s Potential (crest) then off to Ollivander Unique Wands.
- Potter’s Potential Have your guests create their own family crest about their talent. Everyone has a talent and this should be honored. This can be done on paper with markers, or painted on either a small canvas or wooden crest.
- Ollivander Unique Wands Have a selection of sticks (about 2 cm thick). Have each guest select a stick/wand and customize the wand to their unique talent (paint and decorate with ribbon and jewels).
- Hagrid! Play like bingo. Make up the cards before hand and use all types of pictures and phrases from the books / movies of Harry Potter.
- Muggles Moves (charades) Try to decipher Harry Potter terminology
- The Power of Potion Attend a potion class and mix potions (Kool aide in all colors)
- Wizarding Wands Teach the guests how to use their wand and learn some fun spells and Parseltongue (the language of snakes that Harry can speak)
- Quidditch Play a version of Quidditch (combine quidditch rules and lacrosse).
- Map Mania Create a map to find the “big” birthday present. Have this be a combination of maps and riddles.
